Message from the Executive Director
I would like to personally invite you to come and experience our history.
For many years now, we have been developing a program intended for audiences of all ages. The activities offered during the regular exhibits or during summer Saturdays and Sundays are some very good examples.
At Maison Saint-Gabriel we highlight Montreal’s intangible rural heritage. Our site bears witness to a rich and fascinating history. Our desire to preserve and to share this heritage with others is at the heart of our mission.
Activities and themes that change with the seasons
Marguerite Bourgeoys, the King’s Wards, the first settlers and the farming sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame are your hosts as you tour the sites and visit the different presenters.
Our garden experience, which explores history through nature, gets more elaborate with each passing year. In addition to the guided our, the farmhouse garden now includes a beehive, a henhouse, an arboreal circuit and a native garden.
These additions incorporate current issues into this historical setting very naturally. We remain well-grounded in the present while respecting our mission. This is what guides our efforts to offer you a memorable experience of history during each visit.
